is heading down to surgery on her broken leg. Orthopaedic surgeon Laura is
preparing for a complex operation. In small dogs as well, they can have reduced blood supply
to the bones, particularly in radius and ulna
fractures. So, we need to be very careful. Make it very strong in repair, and we give them the maximum chance
of healing. To repair Bear's broken bone, Laura needs to carefully fit a metal
plate in the right place. It's handy just to have them
close by. Just gives a sort of plan of what we
want to do today. See, it's just straight in
the middle, so we'll aim to put a plate
above and below that fracture line
