To try to find out what happened
to Alfred and Ann, I've called up a copy of the census
from the year 1891. So, five years after Ann's divorce
petition was discontinued. And what it reveals
is that they are still together. They're still married and they're
still living on Falkner Street. But, more than that,
they have two children. Sarah, who's five,
and Alice, who's just three. It does seem that there has been
some form of reconciliation, and perhaps they have given
their marriage a second chance and gone on to have a family
