hospital? No. He was at home? George died at home, which had
always been what he wanted. His final illness he developed
fairly rapidly in the summer of '89. He spoke his last coherent words
on his last night, just holding each other. He wasn't able to say very much. He wasn't able to move by then. And he just stroked my hand, which is about all the movement
he was capable of, and just thanked me
for our life together. And... ..the next afternoon, I was sitting
in bed just talking to him, although he couldn't respond, and he died
