a family I knew called the DeFeos also moved
from Brooklyn to Amityville. They bought a house
on 112 Ocean Avenue. In the front yard, which would be the
side that the windows, the famous windows, they had a sign with a pole, and it looked like a
big, white shingle, but it was a piece of wood. And it said in black
letters, "High hopes." ♪ High hopes He's
got high hopes ♪ ♪ He's got... I took it as being
cool, you know? Like, who does that? Why
