making at that time. The one that I know of was
probably about 12 or 13 feet. So, you know, when you go to
Tiananmen Square and you see these giant portraits of Mao, Warhol's
emulating this propagandistic image. What he did was create these
incredibly colourful backgrounds. And when you come close to those
paintings you actually see brushstrokes. I mean, he's painting them using mops and he's down on the floor - the canvas is on the floor
