in some ways, I think it's a bit of
a thumbing his nose, frankly, at the officials. But, of course, Warhol uses silver
quite a bit, cos it reflects the silver screen. It also is a place to project
our individual meaning, our interpretation, you know,
of some things. He always said, "I'm a blank,
I'm nothing, "I'm just a surface to myself." So, in that sense,
it's a very clever comment. So, what he wants is a blank canvas. When there's an absence, people
fill it in with all kinds of ideas about the person
