I don't think Warhol
would say anything. You know, if you asked him,
he might just say, "Oh, I heard it on the news." I think it's what the viewer thinks
when we look at those images. And they become a kind of history
painting in a sense. You know, Warhol is
a provocateur - to bring the focus on something that most
people don't want to focus on. Warhol gave the art to my aunt who
had just lost her sister and family members. This is pretty bad. Why would you give that to
a surviving sister as some type of gift or memorial? My surviving aunt's opinion was that
it was horrific and it was put out of display. Just something that existed
up in a warehouse in New York City. It never became talked
about again in the family
