I remember I asked Andy, "What is your biggest desire
to paint?" He said, "I want to do
an American Indian series." And then, when Andy saw
the images of Russell, he responded big-time
and wanted to do it immediately. So, I shot from the hip and I said,
"12 big paintings, "24 medium-sized paintings, "and with that, we can select out
and do multiple exhibitions." MUSIC: I'm New Here

to do the portrait, but he had to tell Andy
that he was in prison at the time and that he needed the sponsorship by a United States senator
to actually make the trip
