It's funny to think of. Of course, George Lawler's father
could have simply said, "Your father was a gangster, "and here's a most wanted brochure
that the police put out. "And I'm sorry to say,
but, you know, I can prove to you "that your father was a gangster." That would have been strange
and troubling, but possibly even more troubling -
and certainly stranger - would have been the fact that
that piece of at least semi-private information
becomes part of artistic culture by the most famous artist alive
at that moment. He could've used, like, The Wizard
of Oz when we had the World's Fair. Instead, he, for whatever reason,
he picked Thirteen Most Wanted. That was not the thing to promote
at the World's Fair
