Dr. Karl Weigand:
[reading McLane's journal aloud]
"Friday, March 12: This afternoon Professor Carter found a large piece of flesh having the same composition as that of the common earthworm, but measured twenty-four inches by eight. With this section as a measure, the worm-like creature would be more than five feet in length. Most intriguing is the tissue's consistency: it proved impossible to cut - knives passing through the flesh leaving no mark. Fire was applied to the tissue and the corollary result..." The journal ends there. Dale Drewer:
Well, it's getting very late. Why don't we work out tomorrow's schedule and then get some sleep? Hank Chapman:
But what about that five-foot nightcrawler? Well, excuse me for being so stupid... me and that book you're reading. Dale Drewer:
We weren't laughing at you, Hank. It's just that McLane didn't really mean to imply that the flesh was from a big worm. He said, "From a worm-like creature." Martha Hunter:
You know it might have been a sea worm. They've been know to grow much longer than five feet. Hank Chapman:
Well, excuse me for shooting my mouth off, but the journal didn't say anything about the sea - just talked about worms

Friday March 12
00:00:02.909 --> 00:00:04.936
This afternoon Professor Carter found
00:00:04.096 --> 00:00:07.718
a large piece of flesh having the same composition
00:00:07.719 --> 00:00:09.636
as that of the common earthworm
00:00:09.637 --> 00:00:12.543
but measured 24 inches by 8
00:00:12.544 --> 00:00:14.129
With this section as a measure
00:00:14.263 --> 00:00:17.347
the wormlike creature would be more than five feet in length
00:00:17.348 --> 00:00:19.745
Most intriguing is the tissue's consistency
00:00:19.827 --> 00:00:21.089
It proved impossible to cut
00:00:21.925 --> 00:00:23.428
knives passing through the flesh
00:00:23.452 --> 00:00:24.907
leaving no mark
00:00:25.001 --> 00:00:26.682
Fire was applied to the tissue
00:00:26.713 --> 00:00:28.292
and the calorie result
00:00:29.076 --> 00:00:31.298
The journal ends there
