don't think of her like, "Oh, you know, feminist", like, immediately,
but the visceral experience of Joan is
a feminist experience for me. Watching the way she holds
herself like a normal person, not like someone
who is self-conscious and trying to be a good girl. Here's somebody who was born
to do this and is doing it. There's just those rare times
where you feel like someone was put on the planet
to show you what rock 'n' roll music is. It could be Bowie.
It could be Kurt Cobain. It's definitely Joan Jett. (CHEERING CONTINUES) I was really gonna try
not to cry and be tough, but that's
a little overwhelming there
