the end of him. He has another fight
with his brother Johann. He does not really want to be here, he does not really want to deal
with his brother and his brother's hated wife at all. He says, "I'm leaving." And Johann says, "Look, the only way
you're going to get back to Vienna "at this point is an open cart." And Beethoven in a fury
says, "That's what I'll do," and that was the end of him. It was two days' travel in the
middle of winter in an open cart. And this begins his decline
