In early November, 1815, Beethoven
learns that his brother Karl is dying of tuberculosis,
which is the choking, bleeding horror that they
watched their mother die from. He rushes to Karl's bedside, but
he is already obsessed with the idea that he must get guardianship and
complete control of their son, Karl. Beethoven believes the mother,
Johanna, is absolute evil. He has to get Karl away from her
because she will corrupt him
