Could you listen to my chest?" As I was leaving,
I said to Mary, "If anything comes up,
just give me a call." So, Mary said, "Is acute loneliness
a good enough reason to call?" And I said, "I can't think
of a better reason to be awakened at 3:00 a.m." (RINGING) BEVERLY: She called me
on the phone at 2:00 in the morning
and she said, "I have just met
the most wonderful man." I said, "It's two o'clock
in the morning." She said, "He's just wonderful.
He's young." And I said, "So?" ROBERT: So, a few days later,
3:00 a.m., she did call me, and she said to me,
"Do you cook?" And I lied and said, "No."
And so she said, "Well, I guess we'll have to go
out to dinner." BEVERLY: The minute he came
into Mary's life, she fell in love
for the first time in her life
