Could you explain to us
why the doctors are wrong? Marnie has a congenital
muscular dystrophy. Her specific form has never
been diagnosed, it's hard to diagnose,
and therefore hard to treat, but I believe that
treatments are possible. For instance,
an experimental treatment called risdiplam
might have an impact. My Lady, that drug is not licensed for use by NICE,
the FDA, or the EMA for Marnie's condition. Er, right now it isn't,
but drug use changes all the time. We're not here to guess as to what
treatments might work. I agree. Please refrain
from guesswork, Dr Pankerman. We're here to establish facts. My point is not that a cure
is available, my point is that it
might be available. We will investigate
and make cases for treatments. And while we do so,
we'll keep Marnie alive. No further questions

Could you explain to us
why the doctors are wrong?
00:00:04.096 --> 00:00:08.044
Marnie has a congenital
muscular dystrophy.
00:00:08.044 --> 00:00:11.000
Her specific form has never
been diagnosed,
00:00:11.000 --> 00:00:13.056
it's hard to diagnose,
and therefore hard to treat,
00:00:13.056 --> 00:00:16.002
but I believe that
treatments are possible.
00:00:16.002 --> 00:00:18.004
For instance,
an experimental treatment
00:00:18.004 --> 00:00:20.048
called risdiplam
might have an impact.
00:00:20.048 --> 00:00:21.092
My Lady, that drug
00:00:21.092 --> 00:00:24.072
is not licensed for use by NICE,
the FDA, or the EMA
00:00:24.072 --> 00:00:26.000
for Marnie's condition.
00:00:26.000 --> 00:00:29.002
Er, right now it isn't,
but drug use changes
00:00:29.002 --> 00:00:30.044
all the time.
00:00:30.044 --> 00:00:32.092
We're not here to guess as to what
treatments might work.
00:00:32.092 --> 00:00:35.064
I agree. Please refrain
from guesswork, Dr Pankerman.
00:00:35.064 --> 00:00:37.016
We're here to establish facts.
00:00:37.016 --> 00:00:39.076
My point is not that a cure
is available,
00:00:39.076 --> 00:00:42.064
my point is that it
might be available.
00:00:42.064 --> 00:00:46.012
We will investigate
and make cases for treatments.
00:00:46.012 --> 00:00:49.012
And while we do so,
we'll keep Marnie alive.
00:00:50.008 --> 00:00:52.006
No further questions.
