tipped off the Rangers that Sam Bass had plans
for his gang to rob Williamson County Bank in the city of Round Rock
on July 19, 1878, four Rangers along with a local sheriff
named A.W. Grimes hurried into town
with the intent to set a trap
because his father was taken into custody,
