were paralyzed by the disease. The Indian government
went on the offensive, launching nationwide vaccination programs aimed at immunizing a staggering
172 million kids twice a year. Thanks to these incredible efforts,
India is now polio-free. But Indians must now face the legacy
of the disease they have conquered. Everybody in India knows
somebody with polio
