John, and Gerry Rafferty. Gerry was to go on to become one
of Scotland's finest songwriters. But at the time, we were
all just kind of making it up
as we were going along. It was Gerry Rafferty
who I'd known since he was eight. He was on the bus,
we got the bus together, and he said, "I was at a party
in Paisley," and he said, "I met
the funniest guy in the world. "Funniest guy ever met in my life." And that was in 1968
