Dear Mr. Brooks, I'm writing you again in the hope that the California Innocence Project
will reconsider my case. I know you hear from a lot of people. But maybe if you got to know me,
you might reconsider. Let me state clearly and unequivocally
I am innocent. I spent six years in prison
and the past three on parole for a sex offense that I did not commit. I wrote you two years ago from CMC
and you turned me down. But I don't stay down. Not for long. I learned that in prison,
and I learned it growing up, too. You see, I played a lot of football
when I was young. And it wasn't all ice cream
and pizza parties. No, sir. I had a different walk home. Life in Long Beach was for real and it was hard to see a way out

Dear Mr. Brooks,
00:00:03.048 --> 00:00:05.079
I'm writing you again in the hope
00:00:05.088 --> 00:00:09.051
that the California Innocence Project
will reconsider my case.

I know you hear from a lot of people.
00:00:13.036 --> 00:00:16.099

Let me state clearly and unequivocally
I am innocent.
00:00:22.084 --> 00:00:27.119
I spent six years in prison
and the past three on parole
00:00:27.002 --> 00:00:30.193
for a sex offense that I did not commit.
00:00:30.084 --> 00:00:34.055
I wrote you two years ago from CMC
and you turned me down.
00:00:35.004 --> 00:00:38.518
But I don't stay down. Not for long.
00:00:38.096 --> 00:00:42.874
I learned that in prison,
and I learned it growing up, too.
00:00:44.028 --> 00:00:47.999
You see, I played a lot of football
when I was young.
00:00:47.012 --> 00:00:49.919
And it wasn't all ice cream
and pizza parties.
00:00:50.044 --> 00:00:51.476
No, sir.
00:00:52.048 --> 00:00:55.999
I had a different walk home.
00:00:55.084 --> 00:00:58.196
Life in Long Beach was for real
00:00:58.064 --> 00:01:00.552
and it was hard to see a way out.
