Western societies have gone. The millions of low-paid workers
who have to keep working to prevent the societies from
collapsing are at much higher risk, and those living in deprived areas are suffering much higher rates
of illness and of death. Those who benefit from
the system of power, it seems, are much safer than those
who do not, and are also getting much richer as the markets keep rising
in the pandemic
