This is medicated grit. Grouse need some form of grit
to digest their food. Here, because it's, what,
80% blanket bog, there's not a lot of gritstone or
sandstone or anything like that. There's, you know,
no source of natural grit at all. And they rely on us
putting grit out. Grouse mainly feed on these
heather seeds here. The grit goes into their system
and then it goes into their gizzard. The gizzard is a muscle
inside the gut. So, it sits in the gizzard. And then it almost acts like teeth,
and it grounds all the coarse seeds up and then push all
the nutrients out of it
