singlehanded. A cone-shaped net
is dropped to the seabed on the end of 250 metres
of steel cable. Two heavy doors keep
the mouth of the net open. But he can't trawl in Falmouth Bay
without one of these - a plotter. It shows you where on the seabed
it's safe to tow your net. There's a ship's anchor there. A shipwreck there. It's not an easy place to work. But I mean, Falmouth Bay
was always notorious for boulders, anchors, wrecks. For some people, you know,
it can be a hard place to work. As a good friend of mine said,
"Three hauls in Falmouth Bay - "two clear hauls and one looks
like somebody has eaten my net!"
