The spiralling house prices
are causing problems for the fishermen. It is hard to get crew, but youngsters can't afford to stay
in the village. A lot of them move away. So, yeah, it is impacting
on the crew. Dave Warwick skippers the
Valhalla... ..single-handed. I work in the boat on my own
at the minute. Not really through choice, but just a lack of crew has forced
me into doing it. I can't afford to tie the boat up
until I find crew, so I'm going on my own,
which, it's maybe not the safest at times. The Valhalla is an otter trawler
like Jack's, designed to be operated by at least two men
