[first lines] Michael O'Leary:
[on the phone]
Hello there. Is this the house? I've been trying to get you. Miss Wainwright:
Michael, do you realize it's 5:30 in the morning? Lucy - a Servant:
Who is it, Agatha? Miss Wainwright:
[to Lucy]
That Michael. [agitatedly to Michael as a different phone line rings] Miss Wainwright:
We had a party last night and the last guest hasn't driven out of the driveway yet. Lucy - a Servant:
[answering the other ringing line]
Hello, kitchen. Lucy speaking... Yes, Miss Ann. Ann King:
[irritatedly in bed]
What's that racket? The telephone's been ringing all over the house... I'll talk to him. [picks up the other phone] Ann King:
Michael, what do you mean at this unholy hour of the morning? Michael O'Leary:
Oh, well good morning, Miss Ann. Cheerful morning now isn't it? I was wondering if I might talk to Miss Judith. Ann King:
No you may certainly might not! She hasn't had two hours of sleep yet, I wouldn't disturb her for the world... oh... [obviously gives in, and the scene fades to Judith waking up in bed to answer her ringing phone with Michael on the line] Judith:
This is Miss Judith Traherne of the sleepy Trahernes

"Believe we should present material
in New York tomorrow.
00:00:03.068 --> 00:00:06.069
Please wire.
My congratulations, Fisher."
00:00:06.024 --> 00:00:08.993
- Isn't that marvelous?
- It's wonderful. Isn't it, Ann?
00:00:09.016 --> 00:00:11.833
I was... I was just bowled over
for a minute.
00:00:12.000 --> 00:00:15.197
Sure, so was l. I wired Fisher
I'd meet him at 1 0:00 in the morning.
00:00:15.036 --> 00:00:16.588
- Did you?
- Yeah.
00:00:16.076 --> 00:00:19.194
It means driving to Mill's Junction
to catch the 4:40.
00:00:19.036 --> 00:00:22.318
Martha's packed you,
but I can't even find my socks, so hurry.
00:00:23.004 --> 00:00:24.674
No.
00:00:27.052 --> 00:00:28.794
Come on.
00:00:32.012 --> 00:00:33.792
What are you going to do?
00:00:35.016 --> 00:00:37.993
I don't know. Nothing.
00:00:38.016 --> 00:00:40.515
- You can't go.
- No.
00:00:40.068 --> 00:00:42.875
- You can't let him go.
- Judy?
00:00:43.999 --> 00:00:45.998
We can't be late, because this board
convenes just twice a year.
00:00:46.016 --> 00:00:49.047
Some of the men are coming from
Boston. Some as far as Kansas City.
00:00:49.068 --> 00:00:52.956
And a very distinguished man,
Heinzig of Vienna is coming.
00:00:53.056 --> 00:00:56.087
They're gonna sit around that table
and tell if your boy's right or not.
00:00:57.999 --> 00:00:58.758
So come on, hurry.
00:01:00.032 --> 00:01:01.594
Oh, Ann.
00:01:01.076 --> 00:01:03.478
Can't you see?
00:01:04.016 --> 00:01:06.031
I can't stop that.
00:01:07.008 --> 00:01:10.003
Can you see anything?
00:01:10.999 --> 00:01:11.798
Can you see me?
00:01:13.998 --> 00:01:15.001
Not very well.
00:01:18.998 --> 00:01:20.998
"Dimming of the vision.
00:01:22.002 --> 00:01:24.316
Then blindness.
00:01:25.001 --> 00:01:27.001
Then... ."
00:01:28.072 --> 00:01:31.393
Oh, if I can only last till he goes.
00:01:34.000 --> 00:01:35.718
Now, Ann...
00:01:35.088 --> 00:01:37.313
...come on.
00:01:37.048 --> 00:01:41.155
Go back to your garden and plant
your flowers as if nothing had happened.
00:01:41.999 --> 00:01:43.197
Dear Ann.
00:01:43.036 --> 00:01:45.001
I know what I must do.
00:01:45.001 --> 00:01:47.001
Go on.
00:01:48.016 --> 00:01:49.479
Go on.
00:01:53.048 --> 00:01:54.001
Judy.
00:01:55.001 --> 00:01:57.318
Coming.
00:01:59.012 --> 00:02:00.999
You know what this means,
don't you?
