And another new thing it had on it
00:00:02.959 --> 00:00:06.005
which the Beatles kind of debuted was the Mellotron
00:00:18.416 --> 00:00:21.875
David wanted it because he wanted it to sound
00:00:21.875 --> 00:00:24.084
not like strings but like strings
00:00:24.084 --> 00:00:27.458
And I knew exactly what he meant It's recorded strings
00:00:27.458 --> 00:00:28.959
So tapes inside
00:00:32.208 --> 00:00:35.917
Um but one of the problems you have with this instrument
00:00:35.917 --> 00:00:40.416
is that uh a note only lasts eight seconds
00:00:40.416 --> 00:00:42.125
And then it cuts out
00:00:42.125 --> 00:00:44.458
So if you hold a chord long enough
00:00:44.458 --> 00:00:48.166
and sometimes you need to hold it for a lot longer than eight seconds
00:00:48.166 --> 00:00:50.075
after you get to the eight second mark it starts to
00:00:52.025 --> 00:00:55.667
to do that which is why I hated the bloody thing
00:00:55.667 --> 00:00:57.458
um to be brutally honest with you
