My mother name
is Ethel W. Lance. The "W" stands
for Washington. She's one of those kind that, she wasn't the best cook
in the world... (LAUGHS) We didn't have
the best of everything, but she'd make sure we
wasn't lacking for anything. And, um, I'm grateful for that.
Grateful for that. My mom was going at Mother Emanuel
for as long as I can remember. And, might I say,
over 57 years, might be longer than that, she attended that church
