It was very much
a community-driven project. [narrator]
Nearly 100,000 square feet
of stadium is dedicated to nine courts, accommodating multiple sports
under one giant roof, supported by steel trusses. [Brendan Walker]
Trusses are used everywhere from bridges and cranes
to stadiums. They're effectively a self-supporting
steel lattice that's perfect
for spanning long distances without need extra support
in the middle. [Greg Szulgit]
It's amazing engineering. When it all comes together you end up in a covered space
the size of a football field
