Alcatraz is... A maximum security prisonwith very few privileges. We don't make good citizens,but we make good prisoners. Burglary,armed robbery, grand larceny... You've escaped fromquite a few prisons, haven't you? That's why you're here. Alcatraz was built to keepall the rotten eggs in one basket. I was specially chosen to make sure thatthe stink from the basket does not escape. Since I've been warden,a few people have tried to escape. Most of them have been recaptured. Those that haven't, have been killedor drowned in the bay. No one has everescaped from Alcatraz

Movie Summary
San Francisco Bay, January 18, 1960. Frank Lee Morris is transferred to Alcatraz, a maximum security prison located on a rocky island. Although no one has ever managed to escape from there, Frank and other inmates begin to carefully prepare an escape plan.
