of 300,000 new people to northern california. This massive population spik created a desperate need
for homes and supplies, which created a boom
in the lumber industry. At its peak, there were
more than 400 mills operating in the north coast these rapid changes
in industry brought with them a massive
altering of the landscape, with roads, new structures,
and railroads popping up, as commerce
in the area evolved for the next 70 years. All the railroads are gonna be level
