When we were starting out and trying to figure out what the sound of this thing is going to be, I remember some execs at ABC being like, "Oh, it'd be great if it were like a jungle thing with flutes and this and that." And I was like, "Meh, I don't think so. I think it needs to be a little weirder than that." And I remember when they were shooting the pilot, I talked to Bryan Burk, and he goes, "I'm walking on the beach, and there are just pieces of the airplane all around me." I told them we were just surrounded by all these plane parts, and he said, "Well, if you could pack them up, and bring them back, but maybe I can use them in the score." The airplane parts were a big part of the percussion setup, and they would bang on the airplane things and use them as drums, essentially

When we were starting out and trying to
00:00:02.626 --> 00:00:04.104
figure out what the sound of this thing
00:00:04.128 --> 00:00:05.168
is going to be, I remember
00:00:05.254 --> 00:00:08.799
some execs at ABC being like,
00:00:08.924 --> 00:00:10.364
"Oh, it'd be great if it were like a
00:00:10.426 --> 00:00:11.426
jungle thing with
00:00:11.051 --> 00:00:12.636
flutes and this and that."
00:00:12.761 --> 00:00:14.972
And I was like, "Meh, I don't think so. I
00:00:15.097 --> 00:00:15.973
think it needs to be a
00:00:16.999 --> 00:00:17.182
little weirder than that."
00:00:17.308 --> 00:00:19.268
And I remember when they were shooting
00:00:19.393 --> 00:00:22.855
the pilot, I talked to Bryan Burk, and
00:00:22.098 --> 00:00:24.982
he goes, "I'm walking on the beach, and
00:00:25.107 --> 00:00:26.734
there are just pieces of
00:00:26.859 --> 00:00:28.736
the airplane all around me."
00:00:28.861 --> 00:00:30.654
I told them we were just surrounded by
00:00:30.779 --> 00:00:32.003
all these plane parts, and he said,
00:00:32.114 --> 00:00:33.824
"Well, if you could pack them up, and
00:00:33.949 --> 00:00:34.783
bring them back, but maybe I
00:00:34.908 --> 00:00:36.327
can use them in the score."
00:00:36.452 --> 00:00:38.999
The airplane parts were a big part of the
00:00:38.203 --> 00:00:40.331
percussion setup, and they would bang on
00:00:40.456 --> 00:00:41.623
the airplane things and use
00:00:41.749 --> 00:00:43.208
them as drums, essentially.
