Congressman Daryl Smith: In the common core agenda... Oh, excuse me, curriculum, everything's relative. And I mean everything from kindergarten on. Even basic facts are seen as subjective. Common core deliberately creates the illusion there's no such thing as truth.
Reverend Dave Hill: Because if truth doesn't exist, then there's no moral absolutes.
Congressman Daryl Smith: And by middle school, there's a discernible political agenda behind the classroom reading lessons. Ask your average millennial about our founding fathers and they'll tell you that they were all a bunch of old and rich oppressive slave owners. That perspective came from somewhere.
Reverend Dave Hill: But weren't they?
Congressman Daryl Smith: Most of 'em were just kids. Edward Rutledge and Thomas lynch, both were just twenty-six years old when they signed the Declaration of Independence. And Thomas Jefferson was the ripe old age of thirty-three when he helped write it. And, as far as owning slaves, absolutely, some did... But many did not. But they all get tarred with the same brush.
Reverend Dave Hill: But why, to what end?
Congressman Daryl Smith: If you discredit them, then you discredit what they gave us. Instead of the people havin' their natural rights derived from God, we can convince the students that... We only have those rights, which the government allows us... Replacing our liberties with control

Indeed In the Common Core agenda
00:00:04.007 --> 00:00:08.041
Oh excuse me curriculum everything's relative
00:00:08.074 --> 00:00:11.077
And I mean everything from kindergarten on
00:00:11.011 --> 00:00:13.912
Even basic facts are seen as subjective
00:00:13.946 --> 00:00:17.001
Common Core deliberately creates the illusion
00:00:17.998 --> 00:00:19.519
there's no such thing as truth
00:00:19.552 --> 00:00:23.323
Because if truth doesn't exist then there's no moral absolutes
00:00:23.356 --> 00:00:25.058
And by middle school
00:00:25.001 --> 00:00:27.493
there's a discernible political agenda
00:00:27.527 --> 00:00:29.429
behind the classroom reading lessons
00:00:29.462 --> 00:00:32.365
Ask your average millennial about our Founding Fathers
00:00:32.398 --> 00:00:35.168
and they'll tell you that they were all a bunch of old
00:00:35.201 --> 00:00:37.047
and rich oppressive slave owners
00:00:37.503 --> 00:00:39.639
That perspective came from somewhere
00:00:39.672 --> 00:00:41.873
But weren't they
00:00:41.907 --> 00:00:43.976
Most of 'em were just kids
00:00:44.998 --> 00:00:46.479
Edward Rutledge and Thomas Lynch
00:00:46.512 --> 00:00:48.147
both were just 26 years old
00:00:48.181 --> 00:00:50.283
when they signed the Declaration of Independence
00:00:50.316 --> 00:00:53.919
And Thomas Jefferson was the ripe old age of 33
00:00:53.953 --> 00:00:55.288
when he helped write it
00:00:55.321 --> 00:00:57.557
And as far as owning slaves absolutely
00:00:57.059 --> 00:00:59.891
some did
00:00:59.925 --> 00:01:01.961
but many did not
00:01:01.994 --> 00:01:03.663
But they all get tarred with the same brush
00:01:03.696 --> 00:01:05.001
But why to what end
00:01:05.931 --> 00:01:08.001
If you discredit them
00:01:08.999 --> 00:01:11.993
then you discredit what they gave us
00:01:12.001 --> 00:01:14.107
Instead of the people
00:01:14.014 --> 00:01:17.011
havin' their natural rights derived from God
00:01:17.143 --> 00:01:19.999
we can convince the students that
00:01:19.145 --> 00:01:21.214
we only have those rights
00:01:21.247 --> 00:01:24.217
which the government allows us
00:01:24.025 --> 00:01:27.022
replacing our liberties with control
