and shut down all night clubs. Hiring domestic servants, being a doctor or lawyer
in private practice, and even hailing a cab
were also forbidden... while prohibited domestic acts
like adultery could earn the offenders
lashings and loss of limbs. Gaddafi also banned trade unions,
