Despite being OK with
heights my whole life, I've found as middle age has crept
up on me, that it's been joined not only by a waft of silver hair but a sudden aversion to
steep drops. Now, as I recall, this is the bit
where I get vertigo. Wait till you see this. Whoa-ho-ho! Oh, wow! Oh, my! I need to stop here for a wee bit. It must be an in-built safety
mechanism that's kicked in. Either way, the views are wonderful
to look at. Toppling down them wouldnae be
high on my list of things to do. Despite the blustering wind, it's no mean feat to stand at the
summit of Ben Lomond and relish the fact that somewhere
so impressively rugged, that feels so remote, is less than
an hour's drive from the industrial
city of Glasgow
