In fall of 1993,
I remember being in the car with my partner, Greg,
and we heard a radio broadcast saying that John Wayne Gacy
had a date set for death, and then at the same time,
we both came up with kind of this idea of,
"Wow, wouldn’t that be interesting
to represent John Wayne Gacy?" And then we laughed it off,
thinking, "Why would we ever be chosen
to represent him?" Then we got a call
that John Gacy might want to interview us,
but interestingly, it was not about representing
him in the death-penalty matter
