Kamala Khan, the all new Ms. Marvel,
she is a young, newly discovered inhuman. She's South Asian,
a Muslim girl from Jersey City, and Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers happens
to be her most favorite superhero ever. She is tall, she's blonde,
she has blue eyes, she's everything that Kamala Khan is not. First thing that happens
when she gets her powers is that her body morphs
and she subconsciously decides that she wants to look like Carol Danvers. So, her kind of finding
a way back to herself and her sense of balance within her power
is the beginning of her journey. From a purely thematic point of view,
the idea of the masked superhero, the person who is afraid
to reveal themselves, that doesn't have
as much power as it once did. I think we're actually seeing a broadening
of acceptance of differences, and of uniqueness of each individual, and under those circumstances,
you don't need a dual identity
