Once we figured out how to distil alcohol in persia in the 8th century, boy, it took off like wildfire. European monks made medicine out of it. Persian surgeons used it as anesthetic and during prohibition in america, the only way you could alcohol was if a doctor prescribed it. Here in the backwoods, we've always used it as medicine. The local liquor man was also the town doctor, nurse and pharmacist. And now, we make tinctures with herbs we gather in the woods and roots and berries have been added to the mash and ran in the stills. And this, right here,
is always good medicine

Once we figured out
how to distil alcohol
00:00:03.502 --> 00:00:05.369
in persia in the 8th century,
00:00:05.371 --> 00:00:07.571
boy, it took off
like wildfire.
00:00:07.573 --> 00:00:10.374
European monks made
medicine out of it.
00:00:10.376 --> 00:00:13.577
Persian surgeons
used it as anesthetic
00:00:13.579 --> 00:00:15.345
and during
prohibition in america,
00:00:15.347 --> 00:00:18.382
the only way you could alcohol
was if a doctor prescribed it.
00:00:18.384 --> 00:00:19.349
Here in the backwoods,
00:00:19.351 --> 00:00:22.285
we've always used
it as medicine.
00:00:22.287 --> 00:00:25.355
The local liquor man was
also the town doctor,
00:00:25.357 --> 00:00:26.823
nurse and pharmacist.
00:00:26.959 --> 00:00:28.258
And now,
00:00:28.026 --> 00:00:31.662
we make tinctures with herbs
we gather in the woods
00:00:31.664 --> 00:00:34.297
and roots and berries have
been added to the mash
00:00:34.299 --> 00:00:35.632
and ran in the stills.
00:00:35.634 --> 00:00:39.603
And this, right here,
is always good medicine.
