Today, in the valley
between the Mourne Mountains and Downpatrick, Miriam is rushing
to an emergency at a local farm. So, we're going to
a cow down, which is, sort of, one of the biggest vet emergencies
in large animal practice. So, the cow is usually, they're
low in calcium or low in magnesium and there's lots of different
things that can cause that. Sometimes the weather can do
things like that, any stress on the cow, if they're moved or
anything like that, can cause it. And sometimes,
we just never find out the reason. It is the sort of thing that,
if we don't get there quick enough, and we don't treat her quick enough,
the cow could die. If a cow can't stand
up from mineral deficiency, it could be dead within a
few hours, if left untreated. This is the turn that
kills me every time. COW MOOS
