We're just giving her some
intravenous calcium. It's very difficult to tell whether it's a primary... Sort of
a calcium deficiency or magnesium. So, we sort of cover for both.
Going all right there, Michael? Yeah. That's nearly half. Good job. This is going straight
into her bloodstream, so it's the fastest way to get
this into a cow. We're very, very careful, as well. The treatment we can actually give
her can actually cause more harm sometimes than good.
So we need to get it into her fast, but sometimes it can actually cause
an arrhythmia in the heart. But the cow's so sick, it's
sort of the lesser of two evils. OK, I'm just going to pop
this in here. Next, magnesium. But this also carries a risk. This is actually too dangerous
to go into the vein, so we put this under the cow's skin
to let it slowly absorb
