Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli:
[stridently to Parliament]
This nation is fortunate insomuch as it is not governed by force, but by a chain of traditions that have been cherished from generation to generation. Because in them, in our traditions, are embodied all the laws that have enabled us to create the greatest empire of modern time! [cheering] Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli:
And even though we have amassed great capital, And even though we have established an industry with no parallel in the world. Yet all these mighty creations are as nothing compared to the invisible customs which shape our lives. [cheering] Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli:
To those honorable gentlemen of the opposition that seek to destroy the essential elements of this country I say, let them remember England cannot begin again! [raucous cheering]

This nation is fortunate

insomuch as it is not governed by force
00:00:06.673 --> 00:00:08.088
but by a chain of traditions
00:00:09.991 --> 00:00:13.588
that have been cherished from generation to generation
00:00:13.722 --> 00:00:18.219
Because in them in our traditions
00:00:18.351 --> 00:00:22.073
are embodied all the laws that have enabled us to create
00:00:22.856 --> 00:00:26.226
the greatest empire of modern time
00:00:28.361 --> 00:00:32.111
And even though we have amassed great capital
00:00:32.024 --> 00:00:35.242
and even though we have established an industry

00:00:46.088 --> 00:00:49.123
which shape our lives
00:00:51.259 --> 00:00:54.594
To those honourable gentlemen of the opposition that seek to destroy
00:00:54.721 --> 00:00:57.013
the essential elements of this country
00:00:57.265 --> 00:01:00.682
I say let them remember
00:01:00.081 --> 00:01:06.482
England cannot begin again
