They are knownas the first true primates. ♪ ♪ KALAN:So, I have in my bagan illustration of one of the first trueprimates, called Teilhardina. And it would have evolvedaround 56 million years ago, during this periodof climate change, where there wasa lot of warming. And we know from the fossils that this primatewould have been very small, only around maybetwo ounces or so. And you can see here they hadvery big, forward-facing eyes and thesegrasping hands and feet, very much in line with modern-dayprimate characteristics. NARRATOR:It took millions of yearsof evolution, but this was the first timea species had evolved that truly resembledthe primates we see around the world today
