Christian:
[Voice-over]
Should it ever befall me, and it could happen today, to be a victim of the terrorism swallowing up all foreigners here, I would like my community, my church, my family, to remember that my life was given to God and to this country. That the Unique Master of all life was no stranger to this brutal departure. And that my death is the same as so many other violent ones, consigned to the apathy of oblivion. I've lived enough to know, I am complicit in the evil that, alas, prevails over the world and the evil that will smite me blindly. I could never desire such a death. I could never feel gladdened That these people I love be accused randomly of my murder. I know the contempt felt for people here, indiscriminately. And I know how Islam is distorted by certain Islamism. This country, and Islam, for me are something different. They're a body and a soul. My death, of course, will quickly vindicate those who call me naïve or idealistic, but they must know that I will be freed of a burning curiosity and, God willing, will immerse my gaze in the Father's and contemplate with him his children of Islam as he sees them. This thank you which encompasses my entire life includes you, of course, friends of yesterday and today, and you too, friend of the last minute, who knew not what you were doing. Yes, to you as well I address This thank you and this farewell which you envisaged. May we meet again, happy thieves in Paradise, if it pleases God the Father of us both. Amen. Insha'Allah

Should it ever befall me...
00:00:05.214 --> 00:00:06.631
...and it could happen today...
00:00:07.093 --> 00:00:11.813
...to be a victim of the terrorism
swallowing up all foreigners here...
00:00:13.001 --> 00:00:15.022
...I would like my community...
00:00:15.462 --> 00:00:16.591
...my church...
00:00:17.999 --> 00:00:17.097
...my family...
00:00:18.366 --> 00:00:22.371
...to remember that my life was given
to God and to this country...
00:00:23.925 --> 00:00:26.454
That the Unique Master of all life...
00:00:26.737 --> 00:00:29.498
...was no stranger
to thid brutal departure.
00:00:30.007 --> 00:00:34.204
And that my death is same as
so many other violent ones...
00:00:34.097 --> 00:00:37.311
...consigned to the apathy of oblivion.
00:00:38.418 --> 00:00:40.167
I've lived enough to know...
00:00:40.019 --> 00:00:43.017
I am complicit in the evil that,
alas...
00:00:43.718 --> 00:00:45.302
...prevails over the world...
00:00:45.848 --> 00:00:48.407
...and the evil
that will smite me blindly.
00:00:48.097 --> 00:00:51.319
I could never desire such a death.
00:00:52.105 --> 00:00:55.956
I could never feel gladdened
that these people I love...
00:00:56.036 --> 00:00:58.096
...be accused randomly of my murder.
00:01:00.586 --> 00:01:03.503
I know the contempt
felt for people here...
00:01:03.887 --> 00:01:05.377
...indiscriminately.
00:01:05.646 --> 00:01:09.245
And I know how Islam is distorted
by certain Islamism.
00:01:10.996 --> 00:01:13.887
This country, and Islam, for me...
00:01:14.181 --> 00:01:15.527
...are something different.
00:01:15.851 --> 00:01:18.512
They're a body and a soul.
00:01:19.041 --> 00:01:21.444
My death, of course...
00:01:21.767 --> 00:01:25.955
...will quickly vindicate
those who called me naive...
00:01:25.336 --> 00:01:26.062
...or idealistic...
00:01:27.003 --> 00:01:29.001
...but they must know
that I will be freed...
00:01:29.751 --> 00:01:31.741
...of a burning curiosity...
00:01:32.037 --> 00:01:36.999
...and, God willing,
will immerse my gaze in the Father's...
00:01:37.357 --> 00:01:40.245
...and contemplate with him
his children of Islam...
00:01:40.621 --> 00:01:41.913
...as he sees them.
00:01:43.001 --> 00:01:47.152
This thank-you
which encompasses my entire life...
00:01:48.155 --> 00:01:49.761
...includes you, of course...
00:01:50.996 --> 00:01:52.521
...friends of yesterday and today...
00:01:53.203 --> 00:01:55.852
...and you too,
friend of the last minute...
00:01:56.544 --> 00:01:58.999
...who knew not what you were doing.
00:01:58.928 --> 00:02:00.899
Yes, to you as well...
00:02:01.271 --> 00:02:02.999
...I address this thank-you...
00:02:03.241 --> 00:02:04.958
...and this farewell...
00:02:05.001 --> 00:02:06.816
...whish you envisaged.
00:02:07.238 --> 00:02:09.786
May we meet again...
00:02:10.001 --> 00:02:13.303
...happy thieves in Paradise...
00:02:13.999 --> 00:02:14.001
...if it pleases God...
00:02:14.999 --> 00:02:16.952
...the Father of us both.
00:02:17.999 --> 00:02:18.554
Amen.
00:02:19.003 --> 00:02:19.999
Inchallah.
