APPLAUSE At some point, I thought he's
my grandfather. Because I see him everywhere and it
was like, "Yeah, this is my grandfather, he's
cute, he's good," blah, blah, blah. "He's brave." This is what
they teach us in the schools. And then when I was, like, 12
or maybe 11-12, I realised that no, he's the
president of the country and I have to never say anything bad
about him because I will be killed. And there's this guy
who's like... SPEAKS OWN LANGUAGE ..which means, "Shit on Saddam." Every time he says it, it's like,
"Oh, my God, just shut the fuck up!" Like, "Sh, sh, zip it!" And he's like, "So, it's OK to
say, 'Fuck God?'" And I was like, "Yes." But "Fuck Saddam?"
And I was like, "No!" HE LAUGHS Cos you don't know who's listening. And that's what he created. The idea that your next-door
neighbour, your brother, your cousin - anyone - could be
the one that reports you
my grandfather. Because I see him everywhere and it

APPLAUSE
00:00:03.024 --> 00:00:06.024
At some point, I thought he's
my grandfather.
00:00:06.024 --> 00:00:08.052
Because I see him everywhere and it
was like,
00:00:08.052 --> 00:00:11.052
"Yeah, this is my grandfather, he's
cute, he's good," blah, blah, blah.
00:00:11.052 --> 00:00:14.092
"He's brave." This is what
they teach us in the schools.
00:00:14.092 --> 00:00:18.008
And then when I was, like, 12
or maybe 11-12,
00:00:18.008 --> 00:00:21.096
I realised that no, he's the
president of the country
00:00:21.096 --> 00:00:26.044
and I have to never say anything bad
about him because I will be killed.
00:00:26.044 --> 00:00:28.004
And there's this guy
who's like...
00:00:28.004 --> 00:00:29.048
SPEAKS OWN LANGUAGE
00:00:29.048 --> 00:00:30.096
..which means, "Shit on Saddam."
00:00:30.096 --> 00:00:34.004
Every time he says it, it's like,
"Oh, my God, just shut the fuck up!"
00:00:34.004 --> 00:00:36.999
Like, "Sh, sh, zip it!"
00:00:36.999 --> 00:00:38.044
And he's like, "So, it's OK to
say, 'Fuck God?'"
00:00:38.044 --> 00:00:39.088
And I was like, "Yes."
00:00:39.088 --> 00:00:41.084
But "Fuck Saddam?"
And I was like, "No!"
00:00:41.084 --> 00:00:43.002
HE LAUGHS
00:00:43.002 --> 00:00:45.072
Cos you don't know who's listening.
00:00:45.072 --> 00:00:47.052
And that's what he created.
00:00:48.088 --> 00:00:52.076
The idea that your next-door
neighbour, your brother,
00:00:52.076 --> 00:00:57.016
your cousin - anyone - could be
the one that reports you.
