Jud Crandall:
It was a myth. Kids used to dare each other to go into the woods at night. They knew the power of that place. They feared it. Those woods belong to something else. The ground is bad. It maybe just some crazy folktale, but there is something up in Those woods, something that brings things back. Sometimes dead is better

00:00:03.034 --> 00:00:07.169
passed down from the local tribes up this way
00:00:07.171 --> 00:00:10.044
But to them it wasn't just some campfire story
00:00:10.442 --> 00:00:12.778
They believed it They feared it
00:00:14.915 --> 00:00:16.068
Saw these on the trees up there
00:00:16.682 --> 00:00:18.582
Yeah they're warnings
00:00:18.584 --> 00:00:21.419
The local tribes carved them before they fled
00:00:21.754 --> 00:00:22.619
Fled
00:00:22.621 --> 00:00:25.522
Yeah they knew the power of that place
00:00:25.524 --> 00:00:28.959
They felt its pull
00:00:28.961 --> 00:00:34.631
They came to believe that those woods belonged to something else
