miniatures is, of course, you're never quite sure
what you're going to find. There may be a signature, there
may be an inscription, there may be a clue to the identity of the
sitter or the artist, or both. There may be a lock
of hair in there, which perhaps belonged to
the person who's been painted. But the lady isn't giving up
her secrets today. In this case, it's a little
bit disappointing because there isn't an inscription. So we don't know who the sitter was. Charlotte's reached a dead end
