NEWSREADER: This is the scene in
Paris tonight when Notre Dame Cathedral has been
completely engulfed by fire. On April 15th, 2019, a few weeks before the start
of work on the cast of The Assumption Of The Virgin, a devastating fire broke out
in Notre Dame Cathedral, home of the original sculpture. As we heard about the fire, the first thing we wanted to do is to understand if
the original of these casts were actually affected by fire. Here, here. Very dramatic, isn't it? It is. Although, sadly, many invaluable
artworks were destroyed in the fire, the original panel has miraculously
remained intact
