Thanks to a special glass-blowing
technique, it is far less delicate
than it looks. There is glass but it's quite tough. You have to put some force behind
what you're doing. I had a lot of training from the
Chihuly technicians encouraging us to put a bit of elbow grease
into it. It's not like a glass
you drink out of. The glass was blown through
ribbed moulds and coated inside with polyurethane adhesive
to prevent it shattering
