Whatever an object's age, it's not just those on display
that require attention. In the clothes stores,
curators follow a strict rule to preserve their
70,000 precious garments. We ideally don't like to keep them
on display for more than two years out of ten because of their
sensitivity to light. And a lot of the pieces that we have
have already been out for that length of time. So, we do
need to be acquiring more examples
