the Carroll Shelby Chili Company along with
the International Chili Society. I had 200,000 acres of rocks
down in West Texas that I'd bought, so I needed to sell it,
and I didn't know what to do with it. I went to a friend of mine who was in the PR business
in Dallas, and he says, "We're going to have the first
world championship chili cook-off." It was only meant to be
a one-time event. Lo and behold, it took off,
and it's gotten so big, there's chili cook-offs
all over the United States. He was just able to take an idea and promote it and make it work
