Shelby wouldn't have to wait that long to go to battle with Ferrari. At the 1959 24 Hours of Le Mans, the biggest race in the world, Shelby's driving an Aston Martin, and he's battling with Ferrari
for the outright lead in the race. And it was during the night, Dad just methodically started moving up. He certainly wasn't
the fastest on the track, just plugging along kind of like
