My wife and I,
we were a little bit extravagant. We lived right up to whatever I made, and I was and am
very much in love with her. So whatever Joanie wanted, I'd say, "That's fine, honey, I'll write
another story tonight to pay for it." Not only her, anytime I wanted something. I want a new car. Okay. I'll write a couple of stories,
that'll take care of the down payment, and I'll keep writing stories
every time the payments come due. I was always writing the stories
to keep up with what we were doing. It was like having a tiger by the tail.
But we loved living that way
